About Dena Rabinowitz PhD, ABPP

Dr. Rabinowitz is a specialist in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and is both board certified in Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology and a Diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She specializes in anxiety disorders, with particular interest in OCD, and OC-spectrum disorders.  She has experience treating children, adolescents, and adults as well as working with families. In addition to being a clinician, she also teachs, consults, and supervises other clinicians in CBT in her capacity as the clinical director at CBPNY and as a frequent lecturer. She has published numerous articles, is a nationally featured speaker, and has appeared on TV, radio and in print.

Dr. Rabinowitz completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania where she graduated summa cum laude with honors in psychology.  She then completed both her masters and doctorate degrees at St. John's University.  She spent a year of training in CBT at the NYU Child Study Center and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in CBT at the Bio-Behavioral Institute.  In 2005, Dr. Rabinowitz founded CBPNY.
